Re:vale LIVE GATE "Re:flect U" Official Report!

The "IDOLiSH7" franchise has both a smash-hit TV anime airing now as well as a smartphone game. Re:vale, which released their second album "Re:flect In" this August, took to the main arena at Musashino Forest Sports Plaza on October 15 (Sat) and 16 (Sun) to perform their first live concert as a solo group.

Re:vale is an idol group consisting of two members: Momo and Yuki. They have appeared in variety shows, movies, TV dramas and more, and have earned the immense support of people of all ages and genders. Having won Overall Best Artist at "BLACK OR WHITE," Japan's largest music awards, Re:vale continues to reign as the undisputed champions of the idol world.

This article will cover Re:vale's two-day live concert, which captured the hearts of fans Japan-wide.

This concert marked the first time in "IDOLiSH7" history that every song was performed by a full band. As the crowd fixed their eyes on the stage waiting for Re:vale to appear, the Future Notes Band, led by Hori Kuraaki (keyboard), strummed a resounding heavy bass.

Finally, to the roar of the crowd, two people appeared from a door: Soichiro Hoshi (Momo's actor) and Shinnosuke Tachibana (Yuki's actor). A spotlight shone down, making it easy to see they were wearing the exact costumes from the key artwork.

The first song they performed was "NO DOUBT -Re:act LIVE GATE style-," a splendid rock remix of one of Re:vale's most famous tracks: "NO DOUBT." The aesthetic of the music video was recreated on stage, including the action movie style and gun firing - it felt nearly like the show hit its peak right out of the gate.

The next song was "Period Color," a unique digital rock tune designed to feel like the world of an online game. With background dancers creating an intense performance behind them, Re:vale poured the joy of sharing time with fans into their song. You could hear in both their voices how much they'd looked forward to this concert.

Their stage patter began with Re:vale-esque comments such as "I'm so happy to get to see you all again" and "having the two of us and all of you who love Re:vale here in one place is so amazing!" They then made their fans very happy by striking a fanservice pose from the UR that had just released in-game at the time while wearing the outfits from the key art. Behind them a screen played a clip of "Yumeshizuku," a new song from their 2nd album. The song has a high tempo, but the comfy balance of the vocals absorb your attention. During this interlude, the audience reached new levels of hype.

Momo called for the crowd to clap along, and launched into "Taiyo no Esperanza." As the audience beat out the rhythm as one, the two singers responded in kind with a passionate performance, dazzling the fans.

After that, an acoustic guitar solo led into "Hoshikuzu Magic," recreating the memorable performance from the "2nd Live REUNION" concert. Every second of this performance was unmissable, leaving the audience unwilling to even blink.

After the outro, the cassette player displayed on screen lifted up to reveal a cityscape. This was actually a reference to the "Re-raise" music video. A big band number including a saxophone, trumpet and trombone kept the crowd buzzing until Re:vale re-appeared to reveal a costume change.

What's more, Tachibana pulled off a guitar performance matching Yuki's from the music video, whipping the arena into a frenzy. Fine-tuned stage effects included holograms of the train from the music video and original design playing cards spinning in the air.

From there, they mellowed the atmosphere in the arena with slow tempo songs. They played "t(w)o...," a vow to face the future together, and "TO MY DEAREST," a sweet romantic ballad perfect for winter, one after the other, and then the two singers disappeared. As the fans watched the main stage with rapt attention, they surprised everyone by re-appearing on the center stage with a gentle performance of "Kokoro, Harebare." The addition of three love songs back-to-back made for a setlist that showed off Re:vale's closeness.

After the next song, "Start Rec," they led into the first solos performed at an IDOLiSH7 live concert. Momo sang "100% Happiness," joining female dancers in a sweet routine that had the fans going crazy. In contrast, Yuki's "Sennen Saki mo Zutto..." saw him rising up on a lift against a gorgeous background as he belted out the graceful and emotional lyrics. Each performance encapsulated the idol's unique charm.

A third costume change saw the two singers in the "SILVER SKY" outfits, and they appeared lounged on a sofa as a reference to the memorable "1st LIVE Road To Infinity" concert.

When they casually stood up, they performed a rousing cover of legendary idol ZERO's song "Dis one." Stage effects such as flashy holograms and flame jets had the atmosphere on stage reaching a boil.

From here, the concert entered the home stretch. On the first day, they performed "Kiseki," and on the second day, they performed "Gekijo." Both struck the arena like lightning. This led into "Storyteller," a new song from their second album featuring music by composer Hiroaki Hayama. The unique, weary melody is a complete earworm. It also includes a playful chorus made for audience interaction at concerts.

They then launched into the relentless, sprinting melody of "Fly! More Liberty." Almost mimicking a call-and-response, fans waved their penlights furiously at the stage.

The final song of the main part of the concert, "SILVER SKY -Re:act alternative style-", was originally released as bonus audio with the first limited edition of Re:vale's 2nd album "Re:flect In". The performance featured choreography and stage design reminiscent of the concert scenes from the "IDOLiSH7 Second BEAT!" anime.

The crowd kept on screaming for Re:vale.

On the first day of the concert, they performed "Eiensei Riron" as an encore. On the second day, they performed "Happy Days Creation!" with cute choreography.

After that, they invited the members of "Future Notes Band" and the talented dancers on stage. The crowd applauded all the performers who pulled off such a wonderful concert.

Hoshi told them, "The knowledge that I get to come together with all of you as one heart and have so much fun keeps me going. It's what has brought me to where I am."

It seems they felt some pressure when they first learned that Re:vale would do a solo live concert, but they faced it with their all. Tachibana said he feels he was able to reaffirm his bonds with the fans.

Finally, they expressed their gratitude: "Team Future Notes finally feels complete for the first time - the missing piece was you, the managers, who came to watch. Thank you so much!"

The very last number was the ending theme of the "IDOLiSH7 Second BEAT!" anime, "Mirai Notes wo Kanadete." They sang the energetic pop tune with smiles on till the very end, proving they really are the top idols.

And then, at the end of both days, the curtains closed on the first solo live concert by the undisputed idol champions, to thunderous applause.
