≪Story≫
The Heian Period, at a time when monsters roamed the land.
Envy, resentment, and jealousy, which are the darkness of the human heart, eventually became demons and attacked the people who created them.

The emperor of the time, ordered Kamo no Tadayuki, a famous Onmyouji, to eradicate all of the demons and monsters that were in the capital city. With this task in mind Tadayuki set out to recruit talented children from all over Japan to train to become Onmyouji and protect the capital. Two star pupils rose about the rest and had powers unmatched, their names were Abe no Seimei and Ashiya Doman.

However Seimei's great power came at a price, rumors were being spread that his talents and prowess were because he was the son of a Fox spirt. Ashiya Doman also suffered because he was able to use monk techniques. In Kyoto both the monks and the Onmyouji were bitter rivals because both were ordered to eradicate the demons so the treated Doman like an outsider or spy. Then only day Fox spirits began to appear in Kyoto.

The Fox spirits were not only divine beasts that ate demons, but were also ate people's hearts as well. This makes them impossible for men to defeat them because when men fight monsters are born in their hearts and when that happens the Fox spirit eats it. Onmyouji however do not put demons in their hearts but rather use them to fuel their spells and magic. In this case it is fighting fire with fire. Therefor even Onmyouji cannot defeat the man swallowing Fox spirits. One day however, Abe is able to kill one of the Fox spirits. This casts an even larger suspicion over him. Is he human...or fox?
