We're back with another installment of our "IkeAni Report" series, where we give you sneak peeks before the March 16 2023 (Thursday) animate Ikebukuro Flagship Store grand opening. Our second report covers Floor 2 - the manga floor!
What is the first thing you do when you visit the animate Ikebukuro Flagship Store? For many of you, it's probably going to look at the new manga.
Now that the sales area is complete, we're here to give you our first impressions!
Beautiful displays, surprisingly roomy aisles
At the top of the escalator we described in our last report, the 2nd floor manga area comes into view.
You'll be surprised at how spacious it is! It connects to the pre-existing 2nd floor, making for a truly huge area.
The new half features shorter and lower shelves, adding to the roomy vibe. The aisles are also much wider than before, which will be so nice when shopping!
Also, after coming up the escalator, on the wall to your left you will find the larger books such as art books and concept art books. These shelves run the length of the wall without any vertical breaks, making for a stunning display! It's not only easy to find exactly what you are looking for, but gorgeous to browse - and easier to come across interesting new titles.
Personally, we think that the spaciousness of the manga floor encapsulates how the entire animate Ikebukuro Flagship Store is so much bigger and roomier, and will be very fun to shop at.
More to come!
We felt very satisfied after seeing the manga floor! We realized it might take us a while to explore every floor thoroughly... but we don't mind - it's very fun!
We will continue to report on the situation at the animate Ikebukuro Flagship Store until the grand opening, so make sure to check back later!
Look forward to our next report!
