We're back with another installment of our "IkeAni Report" series, where we give you sneak peeks before the March 16 2023 (Thursday) animate Ikebukuro Flagship Store grand opening. Our third report covers Floor 1 and Café Gratte!
When you enter the building, you walk into Floor 1 (the ground floor). Even before the renovations, the animate Ikebukuro Flagship Store has always stocked this floor with merch from whatever series are currently most popular. How will this be supercharged after the grand opening...?
Plus, Café Gratte, which currently has seven locations Japan-wide, has opened a spot at the animate Ikebukuro Flagship Store! We have some pictures of the kinds of drinks you'll be able to enjoy there, so get excited!
Giant screen! See what's hot on Floor 1
Floor 1 is distinctive for its huge glass-walled entrance. As we described in a previous report, it as a huge open ceiling that reaches the third floor, creating a super spacious atmosphere.
Animate puts together displays for spotlight titles, so make sure to check it out when you visit!
Plus: the far end of Floor 1 now features a jumbo screen!

At last, Café Gratte comes to the animate Ikebukuro Flagship Store!
Among Tokyo's 23 wards, Café Gratte has locations at animate Akihabara, animate Shibuya, and animate Kichijoji PARCO - and now, as of January 26 2023, there's one on Floor 1 of the animate Ikebukuro Flagshop Store!
What is a "Gratte?" Coined from "graphic latte," they are drinks that feature characters printed into topping cream. Grattes are very pretty, and look great in social media photos!

TV Anime "Tokyo Revengers"
The TV anime "Tokyo Revengers" hit Gratte menu is getting a re-run! The anime, airing now, is a hot topic - so make sure to try a Gratte if you're in the area.
